Exhibition (Re) See Novo Hamburgo
It is in the dichotomy of everyday life that Ariadne Decker's art surprises through the (Re)Seeing the city. The works point to what we sometimes take for granted, as being common in the eyes of passers-by in the city. With each new look, the artist resignifies a new space of time. Ariadne's works represent aspects of social interactions in public spaces, whether through leisure, work, new and old places, and the memories that are brought back in each new stroke, color, point and perspective._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
Through elements that repeated in their singularity, together they form a whole, a new image, new looks to review Novo Hamburgo. The city is changing, and the artist's works portray new paths, new uses, presences and absences.
In celebration of the city's anniversary, the launch of the 2nd edition of the coloring book O Caminho das Colors - Novo Hamburgo, presents new perspectives of the city, through representations of Cultural Heritage. An appreciation action for the city and the hamburgers.
" With the idea of reviewing the city for my coloring book, I decided to make pictures for some changes that happened. I changed, and I went to see my change, I don't know if it was the pandemic or what it was, but I passed to miss people, including in the paintings, I started to do more with the crowds and I started to miss the presence of people in my drawings too. I missed seeing people enjoying the city because that was what everyone wanted. At the moment we want to have the chance to enjoy public spaces, to be able to walk, to have the city back, for our use. Far be it from me to pretend to make all these changes, because that will be from now on, It's going to be a continual and constant remaking of this series. This is just the beginning of it (Ariadne Decker, March, 2022).”
The exhibition took place from April 5 to 30, 2022, at the Hotel Swan Tower, in partnership with the Swan Cultura project and support from the Novo Hamburgo Department of Culture.
